This class is for parents with children born between 12/2/14 and 12/1/15. For parents, it is an excellent chance to participate with their children in a group setting. It is a place to ask questions, share experiences, and build friendships. The teacher leads discussions on parenting issues utilizing resources including informative hand-outs, interactive media, useful websites and apps, and expert guest speakers. Topics that will be discussed include; physical, emotional and cognitive development, discipline, communication, parenting styles, nurturing your marriage and preschool selection. For children, this is a time each week for undivided attention from mom or dad as well as an opportunity to explore a rich and varied environment with other children their own age. Each week the children enjoy free play, seasonal and themed crafts, and outdoor playtime. A Teacher Assistant works closely with the children in a caring and creative manner to facilitate confidence and comfort during class and discussion times. Parents separate for discussion time for one hour.
